Navigating the CQC quality statements for GP practices

Learn how to prepare your evidence for inspection under the CQC single assessment framework

The introduction of the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) single assessment framework (SAF) has presented significant challenges for health and social care providers. This transition has led to widespread frustration, prompting a public apology from the CQC for the difficulties encountered.

To assist GP practices during this challenging period, we have developed a comprehensive toolkit designed to thoroughly analyse each of the 34 quality statements (QS) within the SAF. This toolkit has been meticulously crafted by our head of healthcare advisory, Philippa Doyle. With her extensive experience and understanding of CQC’s inner workings and processes, Philippa provides invaluable insights that can help practices navigate the new framework with confidence.

What’s included in the toolkit?

Our toolkit aims to demystify the SAF and provide a clear, step-by-step guide to effectively navigating each of the 34 quality statements.

By using our toolkit, GP practices can:

  • Enhance understanding: Gain a clearer understanding of the SAF, and how each QS relates to the fundamental standards of care regulations
  • Improve compliance: Identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with CQC standards
  • Showcase quality of care: Present your services in the best possible light, highlighting the quality of care you provide
  • Achieve better ratings: Secure ratings that accurately reflect the high standards of care your practice delivers
