Trustee training for boards of charities and other not-for-profit organisations

We find that many boards benefit from a dedicated training session with our lawyers

These interactive sessions can either be held virtually or in-person, and can take any form, including:

  • half-day workshops
  • sessions of around 1 hour
  • short presentations at your board meeting

We often present on the legal duties of trustees and the demarcation of roles between them and the chief executive.

We also look at board effectiveness, conflicts of interest, decision-making, minute taking and delegation of staff and committees. Our aim is to give practical tips to help improve your governance.

The sessions give your trustees an opportunity to ask questions on legal matters and better understand their role.

We can also offer sessions on particular topics relevant to your organisation, such as risk and liability for trustees, commercial trading, donations and fundraising, object changes and merger options.

To discuss our training options and to find out more about how these can benefit your organisation, please contact Stephen or Martyn for an initial chat.
