Partner and associate promotions

We are delighted to announce this year’s round of partner and associate promotions, providing a major boost to our Healthcare Litigation and Real Estate teams.

With effect from 1st July 2019, Rachel Croft has become partner in the Harrogate office. Rachel joined Hempsons in 2017 having previously worked at Herbert Smith Freehills and Squire Patton Boggs. Rachel specialises in real estate disputes works within the Corporate Commercial and Real Estate teams in the firm.

In London, Harjit Talwar and Elizabeth Thomas have both been promoted to partner. Harjit specialises in healthcare litigation and focuses on defending clinical negligence claims against the NHS. Elizabeth has a breadth of experience advising NHS trusts, NHS Resolution and MDOs on complex and high-value clinical negligence matters.

Also in London, Yvonne-Claire Bagnall and Catherine Melia have been promoted to associate. Both Yvonne-Claire and Catherine specialise in healthcare litigation.

In Manchester, Martyn Hughes has been promoted to associate. Martyn also works within the Healthcare Litigation team and has particular experience in the fields of psychiatric injury, fatal claims and attending inquest.

In Harrogate, Laura Scott has been promoted to associate. Laura has a wealth of Healthcare Litigation and clinical negligence experience.

In Newcastle, Steven Wade has been promoted to associate. Steven specialises in defendant clinical negligence claims, representing NHS Resolution.
