Samuel Ashley-Williams

Samuel graduated from the University of Kent in 2017, with an upper second-class LLB in Law. He went on to complete the LPC LLM at BPP London whilst working as a Paralegal in Healthcare Litigation at a firm in London. Samuel tailored his undergraduate studies to Healthcare Law, undertaking modules such as Medical Law and Ethics and Mental Health Law. As part of his master’s degree, Samuel undertook a Law Review and Reform module focussing on the Mental Health Act 2007.

Prior to becoming a Paralegal, Samuel worked for a GP Federation in Surrey. During his time as a Paralegal, Samuel undertook work for NHS Resolution, an MDO, private insurers and various NHS Trusts, he also spent time on Secondment in the Legal Services team at an NHS Trust.

Samuel joined Hempsons in 2022 as a Trainee Solicitor.

Samuel has completed seats in: the corporate and commercial team; regulatory, crime and professional discipline team; and, the commercial litigation team. Samuel now sits in the healthcare advisory team where he assists with a wide range of matters specifically focussing on inquests and court of protection matters.

More about Samuel

I am a keen rugby player having played at club and county level. I am also a big rugby fan having supported Harlequins for most of my life. I am also a fundraiser for the mental health charity ‘Mind’ having undertaken several fundraising activities such as the ‘Tough Mudder’ and various long-distance runs.

At Hempsons I am a member of the social committee. I am also a member of the Living our Values committee – I am passionate about mental health awareness and seek to incorporate this as part of my role in the committee.
