Rosie provides advice to and acts for NHS bodies, in particular commissioners and healthcare providers on a wide range of legal matters.
In particular, Rosie advises and represents Integrated Care Boards and NHS Trusts in Court of Protection cases, such as applications for authorisation of deprivation of liberty, Section 21A MCA 2005 challenges, complex welfare cases and serious mental health and medical treatment cases.
Rosie also practices in the growing social care sector, providing advice and support to various social care and private healthcare providers, including challenges and appeals to the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Rosie joined Hempsons in 2015 as a Paralegal. She completed a training contract with the firm and qualified into the healthcare advisory team in March 2023.

Supreme Court redefines deprivation of liberty
In judgment handed down today (2 June 2026) ([2026] UKSC 16), the Supreme Court has rejected the definition of deprivation of liberty (DoL) as set out in 2014 by the Cheshire West case ([2014] UKSC 19).
