Clinical Commissioning groups, providers and regulatory bodies
The Government’s healthcare White Paper and its consultation paper set out plans to devolve commissioning responsibilities and budgets to GPs. This is intended to build on the role of GPs as primary care practitioners, with GPs also being given the opportunity to deliver new services where this can provide best value in terms of quality and cost.
We have recently joined the NAPC as partners. We will be working alongside NAPC in offering support and guidance to those involved in primary care and the changing healthcare landscape. In addition, we have put together a legal services support package for NAPC members that will provide access to immediate free legal advice, discounted fee rates, training assistance and regular legal updates.
We have also completed with the RCGP, The King's Fund and The Nuffield Trust a GP Federation Toolkit to help GPs to set up provider companies
To respond to the Government’s plans and make the most of the opportunities that they offer, GPs will need to be fitter, better and stronger as both commissioners and providers. We are working with commissioners, providers and regulatory bodies to assist them through the changes to come:
- Putting Clinical Commissioning Groups into action
- Setting up GP provider companies
- Our work with GPs
- What will procurement law mean for you? And what skills will a clinical commissioning group need?
Why choose Hempsons? We act for 1000s of GPs, over 180 NHS bodies, as well as Local Authorities, Social Enterprises and the private sector involved in health and social care. We have over 100 lawyers working for them across the full range of disciplines across our offices in London, Harrogate, Manchester and Newcastle. View print version
