Liz is an experienced healthcare advisory lawyer as a result of acting for NHS Trusts and Independent care home providers across the North East for over 10 years.

Liz is an experienced inquest lawyer and has regularly attended Coroners courts, acting on behalf of both acute and mental health NHS Trusts and care homes in complex inquests. She has provided management of cases dealing with complex acute and mental health policy issues, support of multiple witnesses and assessment of areas of risk together with robust inquest advocacy in HM Coroners courts.

Liz has provided legal advice to healthcare providers both independent and NHS/Public sector providers, including acute and mental health NHS Trusts, CCG’s and private health and social care providers. 

Liz has acted on behalf of NHS bodies in the CoP in respect of welfare applications and s21a MCA challenges.

Liz provides advice and training on a wide range of issues including; Inquest law and process,  access to healthcare records, CQC compliance, scrutiny and enforcement issues, confidentiality, information sharing, mental capacity and consent, COP and risk and governance issues and serious incident reviews. Her work has also included advising on a range of policy documents and patient treatment decisions against the legislative and continuously changing regulatory background.

Liz is also a Trustee of Tyneside Women’s Health, a women’s mental health charity working across the Northeast.
