Cross border charity merger

Advised Outward Bound on the transfer of the Omani operations of a subsidiary charity to an NGO registered in Oman

Outward Bound operated a subsidiary charity in Oman to use its wild deserts and mountain landscape to develop life skills through challenging outdoor journeys.  The trustees decided it was sensible for an Omani registered NGO to take over responsibility for the operations.  As ownership of the charitable assets was being transferred to an overseas body we liaised with the Charity Commission to obtain their approval.

As a cross border transaction we were dealing with the transfer of staff, contracts and assets located in Oman and therefore negotiated the transfer agreement with lawyers in Oman.
