Draft Acas Code of Practice on Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures

Acas has published a draft revised Code of Practice on Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures, introducing a greater emphasis on informal resolution, new requirements for documenting workplace concerns and updated guidance on the use of suspension. The proposed changes encourage employers to address issues at an early stage where appropriate, while ensuring decisions and discussions are clearly recorded.

Although the revised Code is still subject to consultation, organisations may wish to begin reviewing their disciplinary and grievance procedures, template documentation and approaches to workplace dispute resolution.
