Joanna Epton

Joanna is a qualified solicitor who has a degree in medical sciences from Oxford University. She studied the Graduate Diploma in Law whilst working full time as a paralegal, qualifying as a solicitor in 2013. She has practised in the fields of civil litigation, employment and personal injury, ultimately specialising in clinical negligence.

Prior to joining Hempsons Joanna worked as a claimant solicitor, acting in some high value, complex clinical negligence cases. She is therefore able to use this experience to understand claimants’ expectations and motivations, to try and obtain an early resolution to the litigation process.

Joanna also holds a masters in human rights law, which she studied for whilst working full time as head of the personal injury and clinical negligence department at a regional law firm. She has spent time in Ecuador and Spain volunteering with human rights charities and speaks fluent Spanish.
