New Associate strengthens Hempsons’ charity and social enterprise team
Hempsons is pleased to announce the arrival of Simon Lee who joins the charity and social enterprise team as an Associate.
Simon brings a wealth of experience to the firm, having spent more than 10 years focusing on the sector.
Simon has joined Hempsons from Anthony Collins Solicitors where he was the lead on social enterprise matters. His role included leading on a number of public sector “spin-out” projects with services transferring to social enterprises. This covered bodies with multi-million pound contracts right down to smaller organisations with smaller budgets, but the same heart for maximising social impact.
In his new role, Simon will advise on a wide range of matters affecting such organisations including legal structures, contracts, funding and governance issues, while further developing Hempsons’ range of services to charities and social enterprises. Based in the London office, he said of his appointment, “Hempsons’ reputation is excellent within the sector and it’s great to be a part of the firm. I’m looking forward to working with Hempsons’ clients and helping expand the firm’s support to the sector.”
Partner and Head of Charities and Social Enterprises Ian Hempseed commented, “Simon’s previous experience will prove beneficial to Hempsons’ diverse client base, with their need for innovative approaches as they find new ways of working. Sharing with clients his depth of sector knowledge means we can provide them with even better solutions and advice. We are happy to have Simon on board.”
