GP acquitted of allegations of sexual assault

Adam Smith represented a GP who was acquitted yesterday at the conclusion of a Crown Court trial of allegations of sexual assault against a patient.  Previously, it was successfully argued on behalf of the doctor that allegations made by a different patient should be severed and tried separately.  The first trial took place in January 2013, with the doctor unanimously acquitted by the jury.  The case was yesterday reported by the BBC –  Eastwoods, healthcare regulatory solicitors.
