We have been involved in NHS Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) since its inception.  We were initially appointed by the BMA to advise them on the possible implications of LIFT to GP practices taking underleases.  Since those early days we have become heavily involved on behalf of PCTs as well as GPs.  Our real estate and projects lawyers have been involved in over 20 LIFT schemes by 2009.

Our Work

• We are presently advising PCTs on several schemes that are due to reach “financial close” in 2009 / 10.
• Rossendale LIFT Scheme - In November 2008 we completed an innovative phase 5 LIFT scheme on behalf of a PCT involving a £10 million public sector capital commitment but no bank involvement. 
• Blackburn LIFT Scheme - In August 2009 we completed this £21 million scheme to financial close on behalf of NHS Blackburn with Darwen.
