We advised Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust on the development and operation on the Royal Oldham Hospital site of a £16 million ambulatory radiotherapy facility to be operated by the Christie.  This will be the first radiotherapy facility operated by the renowned Christie Hospital Trust outside of its main hospital site and will bring considerable benefits for ease of access to treatment for residents of North Manchester and beyond.

This is the first of a series of planned new facilities and the contractual arrangements will form the basis of future developments.  Particular issues lie around the construction procurement methodology (Procure 21) and how to protect the major financial investment of the Christie in a building that is integrated into the Royal Oldham Hospital site operated by the Pennine Acute Trust without exposing the Pennine to significant uninsurable risk.
