The new top-up provisions introduced in March 2008 are a result of the Mike Richards review on drugs. This is one of the more recent examples of close liaison between the NHS and private patients.
The Green Paper Shaping the Future of Care Together describes National Care Service working in conjunction with National Health Service with further appointments for the private sector and its patients to work with the NHS.
