Hempsons and NHS Providers are pleased to launch a new guide identifying seven key steps STPs and their partner organisations should consider to support the evolution to accountable care. The guide is available here.
Next Steps of the Five Year Forward View (March 2017) sets out plans for the transition of the NHS to population-based integrated health systems. This will be achieved by the evolution of Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs) into Accountable Care Systems (ACSs) and in some areas eventually into Accountable Care Organisations (ACOs).
The guide outlines key issues to consider under the headings of Phasing, Partners, Governance, Contracting, Funding, Organisational Form and Enablers.
Co-author Jamie Foster, Partner, comments: “We hope this will be a useful tool for STPs and their partner organisations to review when considering the wide range of issues surrounding accountable care. This is a complex topic and by breaking it down into manageable steps we aim to guide those involved towards making the best decisions for their areas.”
Hempsons will be at Confed17, the annual gathering of some of the most influential health and social leaders from around the country, on Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 June. Hard copies of the guide will be available on our stand, A8 in the Arena Hall, so please come by if you are attending the conference. More information about Confed17 is available here.
