From Dishonesty to Contempt – using the law to combat fraud in the NHS

Please join us in London on 4 June 2018 for our free seminar on contempt of court and fundamental dishonesty hosted by Katie Gollop QC from Serjeants’ Inn Chambers with comments from Hempsons’ Chloe Davies and an introduction by Bertie Leigh.

In the first case of its kind, a Claimant has been found in contempt of court for submitting dishonest and exaggerated claims against an NHS Trust.

The claim, run by Chloe Davies of Hempsons acting for NHS Resolution and Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, will see the sentencing of Sandip Atwal being handed down on 1 June 2018.

This talk will not only discuss surveillance and the tactics that led to the finding of contempt but will also discuss The Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015, fundamental dishonesty and the overlap with QOWCS.

Please join us for what promises to be an exciting discussion.
